Experience/Background Neil, a certified executive coach and licensed attorney, specializes in helping lawyers and high performing executives reach their fullest potential. Prior to launching his coaching practice in 1998, Neil was a founding partner of San Francisco-based Olson & Associates, and earlier, Olson & Douat. Before launching his own law firms, he practiced law for 11 years as a commercial and personal injury litigator for Derby, Cook, Quinby & Tweedt (now Bullivant Houser Bailey PC), first as an associate and then as a partner. Coaching: Neil combines a practical, direct approach with advanced coaching methodology in order to enable his clients to attain higher performance levels. He coaches senior managers and executives in diverse industries with a specialty in working with clients who have legal-related roles in corporations or firms. Clients Neil has coached leaders at Chevron, Cisco, S4 Partners, and Silver Forest International. He has also coached over 50 attorneys in AmJour 50 International Law Firms, Bay Area regional and boutique law firms, as well as sole practitioners. Education/Certification Neil obtained his B.S. degree from the University of North Dakota and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. A graduate of the Coaches Training Institute, Neil completed the two-year, Co-Active Coaching program and went on to complete their advanced Leadership Program. Neil is a certified Mediator and is certified in the use of Enneagram assessments. He is also a certified leadership coach and consultant with Leading Initiatives Worldwide. Publications/Affiliations/Achievements Neil is the immediate past-president of the Northern California Chapter of the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, and a founding member of the Renaissance Lawyer Society, a not-for-profit organization focused on alternative approaches to the practice of law. Neil is dedicated to coaching lawyers and other executives in the San Francisco bay area, where he lives with his wife and two children. |
